2. Processed data

2.1. Data you enter

For the purposes described herein Dekco may use any data that you enter on this website (e.g. using the contact form addressed in section 4 below). Dekco processes these data you have entered to handle and to answer your request.

2.2. Automatically collected data

Technically these ID numbers are stored in so-called “cookies” on your device.

3. Website analytics

3.1. General

Dekco strives to present the most relevant information to the users of this website. Dekco therefore uses tools to measure how this website is being used. With the help of these tools Dekco particularly collects the following kind of information:

  • On which links on other websites do users click to get to this website?
  • Which pages of this website are visited when, how often, and in which order?
  • Which information do the website users look for?
  • On which links or offers do the website users click?

Based on these kinds of information Dekco creates statistics which help to answer the following questions:

  • Which pages of the website are particularly attractive for the users?
  • Which kinds of information are most interesting for the users?
  • Which offers should Dekco make to its users?

For these purposes Dekco particularly uses the automatically collected data described in Section 2.2 above. The data are always stored pseudonymously (i.e. under a randomly assigned ID number).

The legal basis for this processing of data are your consent within the meaning of Article 6 (1) a) GDPR and Article 6 (1) f) GDPR (balancing of interests, based on Dekco’s legitimate interest to tailor the website to its users’ interests and needs). You can withdraw your consent at any time and prevent the processing of your data for website analytics purposes as described below. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

3.2. Google Analytics

Our specific tool for this purpose is Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”).

Google Analytics uses the “cookies” mentioned above in section 2.2. Your browser transmits the information created with the help of these cookies on your use of this website to Google servers in the USA, where they are stored for up to 14 months. Currently there is no decision of the EU Commission that the USA generally provide an adequate level of protection for personal data. Google undertakes, however, to comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information from European Union member countries. The legal basis for this processing of data are Article 6 (1) b) and f) GDPR, i.e. performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures and a balancing of interests – based on Dekco’s legitimate interest to handle inquiries of its website’s users.

5. Third-party content

5.1. General

The internet is a connected environment. You will therefore not only find our own content on this website. We have also incorporated various third-party content that improves the way our website works. If you access one of our web pages with such third-party content, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective provider and retrieves their content in order to display it to you.

5.3. Google Fonts

We also use Google Fonts to display texts on this website (see https://fonts.google.com/). Google Fonts is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google.”)

The fonts are loaded directly from your web browser into a local cache on your device. They can then be used for displaying text on this website and, if necessary, other internet websites using the same fonts (which will reduce download times if a font is already stored in the cache). If your web browser does not support Google Fonts or does not allow access to Google Fonts, your browser will try to display the text in a default font.

When loading a Google Fonts font, your browser communicates directly with servers of Google in the U.S., which may record the corresponding font retrieval by your browser. There is currently no decision by the EU Commission that the U.S. generally offers an adequate level of data protection. Google has, however, committed to comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Agreement published by the U.S. Department of Commerce on the collection, use, and storage of personal data from EU member states. Further information is available here: https://www.privacyshield.gov/welcome

Google’s privacy statement explains how Google uses and processes your information in connection with Google Fonts: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

5.4. Google Maps

Our website may show maps of the map service Google Maps. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google.”).

When loading a Google Maps map, your browser communicates directly with servers of Google in the U.S., which may record the corresponding map data retrieval by your browser. Further information is available here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7105316?hl=en

6. External service providers

Dekco uses various external services providers to operate this website (e.g. data center operators). To the extent it is necessary these service providers also process personal data. Dekco diligently selects and supervises its service providers. They process the data only in accordance with Dekco’s instructions and are also bound by this privacy statement.

7. Retention periods

Dekco stores personal data only as long as it is necessary for the purposes described herein, or as long as it is necessary to comply with statutory retention periods. Unless it is stated otherwise herein the data you have entered pursuant to section 2.1 above will therefore not be retained for longer than the statutory retention period for business communication of six years. Unless it is stated otherwise herein the automatically collected data pursuant to section 2.2 will be deleted or anonymized after one week at the latest.
